President Nicos Anastasiades sent the message that if the measures to contain the pandemic "will inevitably lead to stricter measures", expressing the hope that a new lockdown in Cyprus will be avoided.
In his remarks coming into the 38th Annual General and Statutory Assembly of the Union of Cyprus Municipalities, and invited to send a message to citizens ahead of the holidays in relation to the pandemic, President Anastasiades said that what is being recorded globally is an outbreak and therefore caution is needed by all.
"If you compare what is happening in Cyprus with what is happening either in Europe or in the rest of the world, you will find that we are trying in every way possible to manage the freedoms of citizens, professionals, in the best possible way," he said.
