[CNA] Harmonised CPI at its highest level since October 2008 in December 2021

The annual rate of change of the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices was 4.8% in December 2021, equal to the corresponding performance in October 2008.

According to data from the Statistical Office, for the whole of 2021 the Harmonised CPI was 2.3%, while compared to November 2021 the Harmonised CPI decreased by 0.3%.

Compared to December 2020, the categories Housing, Water, Electricity and Gas and Transport showed the largest changes with rates of 15.8% and 13.7% respectively.
