Playing very good tennis at times, Maria Sakkari advanced to the third round of the Australian Open, held in Melbourne, as after a match lasting one hour and 29 minutes, she defeated China's Qingwen Zheng (world No. 126) 6-1, 6-4 .
In the first game, which lasted nine minutes, the 19-year-old Chinese player struggled badly but managed to hold her serve as she erased Sakkari's two break points.
The Greek champion reacted quickly and, after equalising immediately, broke Zeng's serve to take a 2-1 lead.
