The Government will buy grain stocks, a total of 36 thousand tons of 30-day barley and corn in two shipments, in order to address the problem of increases and shortage of grain from the market.
As Agriculture Minister Costas Kadis said, speaking at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture, the Ministry will then work with importers through transparent procedures on how to manage these strategic stocks.
He said that a relevant proposal will be submitted to the next meeting of the Council of Ministers.
