[/ATTACH][BR] Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corp. surpassed General Motors Co.'s sales in the United States in 2021 for the first time since 1931.[BR][BR][BR] Toyota sold 2.33 million vehicles in the United States in 2021, compared with 2.21 million for General Motors, the Association of Automobile Manufacturers said Tuesday.
GM's U.S. sales fell 13% in 2021 - down 43% in the fourth quarter - while Toyota increased its sales by 10%.
