In February 2022, economic sentiment improved, with the Economic Sentiment Index (ESI) rising by 3.5 points compared to January 2022. According to a press release from the Centre for Economic Research of the University of Cyprus, the rise in the IIP was driven by a significant strengthening of business sentiment in services and improvements in economic confidence in retail trade and manufacturing.

In services, sentiment rose due to more positive turnover responses in the last and next quarter.
