Fitch has upgraded Greece's credit rating outlook to positive from stable, confirming its `BB` rating.
According to the agency, the outlook upgrade reflects strong growth momentum and a narrowing fiscal deficit that will support a faster-than-expected reduction in government debt in the context of current and expected low borrowing costs. Greek banks have made substantial progress in improving their asset quality, greatly reducing the level of their non-performing loans (NPLs) and enhancing their capacity to provide credit to the real economy.
