The European Club Association (ECA) has decided to ban all its members from Russia with immediate effect, following the reactions of international organisations that imposed "sporting" sanctions because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
At the same time, at its first meeting for 2022, held in London, the Association of Football Clubs approved the termination of its commercial cooperation with Gazprom.
As reported by international agencies, the ECA Board of Directors decided to continue its efforts to support Ukrainian clubs and footballers, and pledged to discuss the situation again at the next general assembly of the association on March 28 and 29 in Vienna.
