The Larnaca Famagusta Permanent Criminal Court today handed down a three and a half year jail sentence to a 75-year-old man after finding him guilty in a case involving the possession of more than two kilos of cannabis for the purpose of supplying it to another person.
A written statement from the Police Headquarters Communications Office said that "the 75-year-old arrived at Larnaca Airport on a flight from a European country shortly before 1am on 27 August. During the inspection of his luggage by members of the YKAN and officers of the Customs Department, two packages containing a total of two kilograms and 285 grams of cannabis were found".
