The Chamber of Fine Arts (E.KA.TE) raises the issue of the functioning of the Biennale Committee, the control of the Committee and the validity of the procedure and calls for immediate discussion and consultation.
In a press release, EKATE expresses concern about the institution of the Venice Biennale, following the many and repeated complaints it says it receives, which raise issues concerning artists' rights.
The Chamber says it is questioning the existing selection procedure for Cyprus' participation, saying it has submitted a request to change it.
It clarifies that it questions the way in which the selection of curators and artists is carried out, the dates of the call for entries and the general lack of transparency.
