"The Diary of a Madman", from the point of view of Nikolai Gogol, Guy de Maupassant and Lou Hsun, was released in Cyprus this December by Covatio Publications.

"Three madmen: a Russian, a Frenchman and a Chinese, unique cases in world literature," said a press release from the publishing house. All three, it adds, "are public servants. All three are members of that privileged group that must safeguard the proper functioning of the state. All three are going crazy."

"They break away from the group and discover their identity in the absurdity. King, serial killer or prospective cannibal victim, these people declare the same thing: Contact with the state is maddening!" he concludes.

The translation is signed by Michalis Papantonopoulos, Mitsos Papanikolaou and George Blanas.
