Total purchases of Cypriot bonds by the European Central Bank (ECB) under the public sector asset purchase programme (PSPP) and the exceptional pandemic asset purchase programme (PEPP) amounted to 6.56 billion.

According to ECB data, total purchases by the two ECB programmes amounted to €6,562 million at the end of July and accounted for 26% of the Republic of Cyprus' issued debt (based on the latest public data). Bond purchases from secondary markets are pushing down government bond yields while keeping borrowing costs low.
