[CNA] Control operation in Paphos with 48 complaints for traffic violations

A total of 48 traffic offences were reported during checks carried out yesterday on both the main and secondary roads of Paphos by traffic patrols.

According to the Assistant Police Director of Pafos, Michael Ioannou, the focus of the checks were the violations that have been proven to be among the main causes of serious and fatal road collisions, such as exceeding the speed limit, failure to use seat belts and protective helmets, as well as the use of mobile phones.

In particular, he said, 80 checks were carried out which resulted in 48 complaints, including one complaint of driving a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, one complaint of driving under the influence of drugs, 22 complaints of speeding.
