The OELMEK in a statement issued on Friday expresses deep concern and anxiety in view of the reopening of schools on Monday, 10 January 2021, due to the dramatic increase of COVID-19 cases in the last ten days and the many problems that the Directorates and the educational staff of the schools will have to face in managing the situation. It states that it expects the Minister of Education to set an immediate meeting to discuss the serious problems related to the management of the pandemic within schools, as well as educational issues related to the high school examination process.
He notes that the reopening of schools involves "serious risks" considering, as he says,
