A Central Prison inmate has died at the age of 47 while being treated at Nicosia General Hospital after surgery.
In a statement, the Prisons Department said that "we are saddened to announce the death of a 47-year-old convict who had been hospitalized at Nicosia General Hospital for the past few days and had already undergone surgery."
"As the Prisons Department, we express our deepest condolences and support to the family," the statement concludes.
