The Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC), following the methodology outlined in its macroprudential policy, announces that it has not deemed it necessary to adjust the percentage of the countercyclical capital buffer for the period 1 January 2022 - 31 March 2022 and therefore, this percentage remains at 0% of the weighted assets of each licensed credit institution in the Republic.
Based on time series ending 30 June 2021:
The deviation of the credit-to-GDP ratio from its long-term trend (credit-to-GDP gap) using the broad definition of credit is -63.7.
The deviation of the credit-to-GDP ratio from its long-term trend using the narrow (banking) definition of credit is -62,1.
