Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire at the Vasilikos Cement Factory. Quantities of polyurethane powder packed in bags, which was both in and out of storage, burned.
The alarm was raised at 09.40 in the morning at the Fire Service, when a fire broke out at the Vasilikos Cement Factory and specifically in a warehouse with alternative fuels.
The intervention of the Fire Service was immediate and it responded with 4 fire trucks from EMAK and Limassol District.
During the fire adjacent buildings were endangered and during the operation the firefighting teams were reinforced with a vehicle from Larnaca District.
With the extinguishing of the fire the Fire Service, in cooperation with the Police and the Vasilikos Cement Factory began to investigate the causes of the
