[CNA] Assurances for dialogue on labour issues in the ALC received by the PEA from the leadership of the Authority

Problems faced by employees of the Cyprus Ports Authority (CPA) mainly with the upcoming privatisation of the Larnaca Port operations were discussed by a delegation of the PEA on Wednesday 16 February with the leadership of the Authority and received assurances that the CPA Board will work through dialogue to find solutions to the issues that plague the employees.

As announced on Monday by the PIO, PIO Secretary General Sotiroulla Charalambous reiterated the PIO's principled opposition to any privatisation, including of the country's ports.

It was added that the PEA representatives stressed that they will not allow any worker to be victimized by the privatization of Larnaca port operations, among other things, issues were raised such as the need for the immediate completion and approval of the Organizational Plan of the ALC and the reduction of the number of employees of the company
