The Cyprus Electricity Authority (CPA) on Wednesday hailed as a significant contribution to ensuring the adequacy of electricity generation the cooperation agreement signed with a private company for the construction of the sixth power generation unit at the Vasilikos Power Plant.
The new, modern and efficient 160MW generation unit will be added to the existing total generation capacity of AHK, from conventional units, and will contribute to ensuring the adequacy of electricity generation and ensuring the necessary reserve capacity, AHK said in a statement. It is noted that the new unit is expected to enter commercial operation before the summer season of 2024.
