A large number of traffic violations were detected and reported within just 12 hours by the members of the Traffic Police Headquarters, who participated in the daily traffic control operation, which was conducted today on the road network of the city and Paphos district, from 6am to 6pm.
According to a statement by the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters, of the total of 353 offences reported, several concern those offences which have been proven to be the main causes of serious and fatal road collisions.
In particular, 100 drivers were reported for exceeding the speed limit, 70 for not wearing a seat belt, 33 for using a mobile phone while driving and one for driving under the influence of drugs. Two persons were also identified and charged, who were driving motor vehicles without being
