[CNA] 3% increases in the price of pasteurised milk not justified, says Consumers' Association

The recent increases of around 3% in the price of fresh pasteurised milk are not justified under the circumstances, says the Cyprus Consumer Association, which calls on the Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry and the Consumer Protection Service "to rise to the occasion and meet their obligations and fulfil their role and duties with regard to consumer protection".

Its position, the Cyprus Consumer Association said in a statement, is that the issuance of an Order by the Minister of Energy to impose a maximum selling price (cap) on fresh pasteurized milk should be considered immediately.

At the same time, the Association calls on consumers, "as a measure of their reaction to the price increase, to request and prefer to buy fresh pasteurized milk at the lowest price" and adds that
