A 20-year-old man who was stopped on the highway yesterday, Tuesday, driving at excessive speed and under the influence of alcohol is expected to be brought before the Nicosia District Court today.
Specifically, according to a police press release, members of the Traffic Police Headquarters, during traffic controls, intercepted a car driven by a 20-year-old man on the Limassol - Nicosia highway last night at a speed of 187 kilometers instead of 100.
The driver was arrested for a self-inflicted offence and then taken to a Police Station, where he was subjected to an alcohol test with a reading of 59μg instead of 9μg.
