A total of 16 people and 7 establishments were reported by the police in checks carried out nationwide on Monday. A total of 1,583 checks were carried out.
All the establishments reported were in the Nicosia district. The largest fine of €1,500 was imposed on a club whose managers and employees were not wearing a protective mask. [IN ADDITION, FOUR COMPLAINTS WERE MADE AGAINST PETROL STATIONS. THE LARGEST FINE IMPOSED WAS €1,000. A FINE OF €750 WAS ALSO GIVEN AND THE OTHER TWO WERE FINED €500. ALL THE COMPLAINTS CONCERNED NON-USE OF MASKS BY MANAGERS AND/OR EMPLOYEES.
Another complaint was made at the company's offices and at a betting agency, with the same allegations of non-use of a protective mask.
