✈️ Recently there have been reports that some passengers were not allowed on the flight after the gate was closed. In particular, there have been several such cases at Larnaca airport for Wizz Air flights.

I mean, the situation. For example plane hasn't even landed at the airport of departure according to Flightradar24 yet and you are still being asked by the gate employee to continue boarding. Some passengers go through and continue to wait in the "sleeve" and some passengers stay on the benches at the gate.

Passengers are invited to board a few more times and then airport staff may close the gate and passengers will not be allowed on the flight.

Aviation is a complicated mechanism, and the interaction between the airport and the airline is a whole procedure, clearly regulated, that cannot be described in two words. There are landing closure rules and there are many reasons for that, from tight airport/airline schedules to additional financial costs.

Of course, situations are different, employees may reopen the gate, by agreement with the airline the gate time can be extended or changed, but this does not always happen and, of course, it is better to listen to employees at the airport.
