[PIO] Written statement by the Government Spokesman Mr. Constantinos Letibiotis on the telephone conversation between the President of the Republic

The President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr.Nicos Christodoulides, had a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Israel, Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu, during which there was an exchange of views on the progress in the implementation of what was discussed during President Christodoulides' recent visit to Israel on 11 May.

Within this framework, it was agreed that the relevant discussions should be intensified, with an exchange of visits by competent ministers.

The two leaders also exchanged views on the latest developments in the region and President Christodoulides expressed condolences over the loss of Israeli soldiers during yesterday's incident at the border with Egypt.
