The Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Mr. Yiannis Karousosos, had a formal meeting with the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Cyprus, Mr. Khaled Mohammed Alsharif today. The meeting reviewed the cooperation between the two countries on various issues, particularly in the areas within the competence of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works.
Developing the initiative promoted by Cyprus at European level for the Declaration on Air Connectivity, Mr Karousos and Mr Alsharif examined the possibility of promoting air connectivity between the two countries by launching direct flights. Mr. Karousos expressed the belief that such a development would contribute to strengthening bilateral relations and facilitate the interconnection of the two countries in various sectors, such as trade, investment and tourism.
Finally, during the meeting, it was agreed that cooperation between the Ministry of Transport and the Embassy of Saudi Arabia will continue, with the aim of identifying further areas for the development of synergies and joint actions.
