The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that today, Friday 02 June 2023 at 16:45, a fire occurred in the community of Kotsiati.
The intervention of the forest firefighting forces was immediate, resulting in the fire being brought under control at 19:15, burning an area of 3 decares of riparian vegetation.
To extinguish the fire, 9 persons of the Forestry Department with 3 fire engines and 3 persons of the fire brigade with 1 vehicle worked.
The exact causes of the fire are being investigated.
