The Search and Rescue Coordination Centre (RSRC) announces that, on 4 June 2023 at 16:25, it received information about the grounding in shallow waters of the UK-flagged vessel REBECCA, with 10 passengers, in the sea area of Ayia Napa.
Vessels of the Port and Maritime Police and the Agia Napa Marina, as well as volunteers with Jet Sky, were mobilised to the scene and managed to transport all the passengers safely to the shore.
The vessel remains at its grounding point, while the Deputy Ministry of Shipping, the Department of Fisheries, as well as the Marine Accident and Incident Investigation Committee have been informed for further actions within their jurisdiction.
