April trial of 74-year-old wife killer in Paphos Postponed before the Permanent Criminal Court

The proceedings before the Permanent Criminal Court sitting in Paphos in the case of the 74-year-old man accused of the murder of his wife have been postponed.


The 74-year-old man appeared today before the Permanent Criminal Court sitting in Paphos and the Court set the case for trial to begin on April 18, 2022 and is in custody. The 74 year old on 31.12.21 was referred for direct trial before the Permanent Criminal Court. The suspected and confessed wife-killer had been discharged from the Mental Health Hospital in Athalassa where he was hospitalized.

Moreover, according to the Paphos Police Press Spokesman and Head of the Paphos CID Michael Nicolaou, he "confessed to committing the murder against his 75-year-old wife by blocking her nose and mouth with his hands" because, as he said, she was ill with leukaemia and he could not watch her suffer.
